Coach Deshon Brock, hailing from Leesville, Louisiana and now a resident of Hinesville, GA, embodies a deep commitment to his players' development and success. As a proud father of four wonderful children, Braelon (17), Maleah (13), Aiden (7), and Autumn (6), Brock serves as a beacon of inspiration both on and off the field.
Currently, Coach Brock serves as a Physical Education teacher at Thee Bradwell Institute, where he imparts not only athletic skills but also essential life lessons to his students. Additionally, he is an esteemed member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., further reflecting his dedication to community and mentorship.
Coach Brock's journey in sports began at Pickering High School in Louisiana, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. Recognized for his exceptional talent, he earned accolades on All Vernon Parish, Central Louisiana, and state football teams in 1999 & 2000. This success paved the way for a full athletic scholarship to Mississippi Valley State, where he showcased his skills as a Tight End and track athlete for three years.
Transitioning from player to coach, Coach Brock embarked on his coaching career in 2004 at Long County High School where he served as a Wide Receiver and Defensive Backs’ coach during his first two years. In 2005, he was named the Head Coach of Varsity Basketball. As the Head Coach, he amassed a record 186 (60% winning percentage).
His leadership was evident as he guided teams to eight State Playoff Appearances and secured five Region Championships in basketball. Notable achievements include reaching the Sweet 16 consistently and advancing to the Elite 8 twice. Under his mentorship, several players earned spots on All-State teams and pursued collegiate athletic careers.
In subsequent years, Coach Brock's influence expanded as he served as Defensive Coordinator and Offensive Coordinator at various institutions. Notably, his tenure as Head Football Coach at Mitchell County High School yielded remarkable results, including two region titles, multiple playoff appearances, and recognition as Coach of the Year.
During his four-year tenure as Head Football Coach at Mitchell County High School, Coach Brock achieved an impressive record of 33 wins and 11 losses. Under his leadership, the team secured two region titles and reached the Elite 8 twice, consistently advancing to at least the second round of the state playoffs each year. Recognized for his exceptional coaching abilities, Coach Brock was honored as Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2019, along with being named Athletic Director of the Year in 2019. His teams consistently ranked in the top 10 in 1A rankings for three out of the four years, demonstrating his knack for developing successful programs. Furthermore, Coach Brock's mentorship led to the development of six all-state players. Notably, the offense flourished under his guidance, averaging an impressive 38 points per game throughout his tenure. In 2019, the team broke the school record for points averaged per game, achieving an outstanding 47 points per game, solidifying Coach Brock's legacy as a highly effective leader and coach.
